Redcliffe

On a lazy sunday afternoon we decided to take a leisurly drive 35 minutes north of Brisbane to the town of Redcliffe. Redcliffe is the gateway to Moreton Island. We have passed through on our way to the Island for camping and diving several times, but never actually stopped in town for long. So with not much else to do that day we spent the afternoon wandering through the relaxed ocean side town. We browsed through a cute little market on the beach and wandered along the pier. The dark sand beaches covered with rocks and seaweed reminded us a little of our beach back home.

Todd at the pier. There were a lot of little kids fishing along the edges of the pier. One boy had caught himself and his sister a handful of shrimp, but didn't have much luck with the fish.

I think this is dead reef along the shore.

Here are a couple of photos for the kids. Along with beautiful botanical gardens everywhere, Australia is also a very child friendly place with man made beaches and children's water parks. So bring your little ones with you for a fun family visit in Oz with Uncle Todd and Auntie Wee!!

Our next adventure for the new year....

Oh and do you remember Aaron Jaxx from Barsby? I have his email address. He lives in Melbourne.
ran into his mama and she thought you might know him from school. She had just gotten back from a visit with him so that is how we got on the subject. She is at the insurance company where I get my car insurance.
love ya
