Hello Faithful Blogreaders and Lurkers galore, Sorry for the sporadic blogging but our lives have been rather unblogworthy as we were saving up our humor and sarcasm for our trip back home and I was struggling to make trips to the grocery store to pick up corn flakes and tampons compelling literary gold. Anyhow we set out for our home land after being absent for nearly two years, And boy let me tell you the gods were unpleased with us as we had 3 legs of the trip and we were delayed each time once after merrily whiling away 7 hrs in the Fiji airport we set off on the second half of our journey to arrive in sunny Honolulu and spend a couple of days to ease the jet lag and soak up some sun. Well Hawaii was gorgeous although frankly we were a little cold after being used to Queenslands balmy 30+ weather. Anyhow we were starving and decided to wander the streets of Waikiki to find some suitable and failing to find pineapple and poi we found the next best thing PUKKA DOG!!!! If you have never had a pukka dog well allow me to describe, Its basically just a hotdog but they cook the bun from inside out with this hot funnel thing and then they fill the hole with a hotdog and gratuitous amounts of papaya relish. Its just awesome and at 6.50 a pop they better be. Anyhow with our bellies full we set off to the beach to await the arrival of Rowena's good friend Jacqui who coincidentally was in Hawaii at the exact same time as us, Someone else was also in the vicinity of a rather close relation to myself however she sought to hang off the side of a jackass crawling there way up a mountainside rather then seeing her favorite child. Anyhow we hooked up with jacqui and her clan went out for the early bird special and sucked down pina coladas and massive amounts of free crab. Then Row and the gang dragged me and several other bored husbands to every handbag, shoe, brooch and hairbrush store on Waikiki strip. The next day we were up and about and headed off to Hanauma bay for more sun lounging and a snorkel, After viewing the rippling physiques the Americans are so renown for and wishing I had skipped the buffet we set off for a snorkel and saw quite a bit of fish life and coral and a huge turtle. The next day we set off for home after a 2 hr delay of course which flew by as I set off to find a oyster shucker to pry Rowenas fingers off a 650 dollar handbag and purse that she thought that she might cease breathing if she didn't immediately purchase it...Sadly she was wrong.
Orginally from Victoria, BC Canada we were married on April 8, 2006 and then drifted of into the sunset to start our new life in Brisbane, Australia.
